Maine Taskforce Continues Medical Marijuana Talks

AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The group charged with organizing
Maine's expanded medical marijuana law met for the final time Tuesday.

  December 15th 2009

In November voters overwhelmingly approved the expanded law to allow dispensaries.  Now the State is working to create a plan and strategy for structuring those dispensaries.

A representative from a dispensary in California spoke to the group Tuesday in Augusta saying patient education and security were a top priority.

Health and Human Services Commissioner Brenda Harvey says the group is looking to change a statute which kept the physical locations of dispensaries private.
